Following the release of 'Mammoet' feat. Nabou Claerhout, M.CHUZI & Sdban Records now present the music video for 'Sambal'.
With 'Sambal', M.CHUZI delivers a track that truly captures its musical philosophy. The song constantly alters an almost cheesy but ultimately sunny bass groove and guitar lines combined with demon-like horns and haunting keys.
The music video was filmed and edited by Monday Jr and directed by promoising film maker Maryam K Hedayat. It was shot at the old location of the "Brasserie de la Senne" and features Ben "Monokimono" Tanghe. The idea behind the clip is a magical sauce that lifts everyone's spirit and makes you dance until the end of the night.
M.CHUZI sure does exactly that with its infectious mix of afro rhythms, funk, and prog jazz, combined with the spacey soundscapes of the Brussels metropole, as they look to Fela Kuti’s afrobeat style for inspiration.
Papara, the new album by M.CHUZI is coming out on November 4 on Sdban Ultra, one of the sister labels at N.E.W.S Records that shines a light on the New Wave of Belgian Jazz.
