Sdban Records is proud to announce the vinyl reissue of Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki, the singular cult album originally released in the spring of 1971. Produced by Jean Kluger and written by Jean Kluger and Daniel Vangarde, the record sounded like nothing else at the time, and more than half a century later, it still feels wonderfully out of place.
Released under the name Yamasuki (also known as The Yamasuki Singers), the project was never meant to be a conventional touring band. It was a studio-born pop fantasy: psychedelic and playful, filled with funk rhythms, samba touches, bubblegum melodies and chants performed by a children’s choir, all topped off with unforgettable battle cries and ritual shouts.
The album’s influence has echoed far beyond its original release, inspiring artists such as Erykah Badu, Bananarama, and Dope Lemon, and appearing in series like Fargo.
The reissue will be available on April 3, 2026, and pre-orders are open now.
